Preparing for an administrative review hearing in the CACFP requires organization, documentation, and a clear understanding of the issue being appealed. Whether it is a proposed termination or disallowed meals, proper preparation or lack of preparation can affect the outcome.

Understanding and preparing for an Administrative Review Hearing is a virtual training designed to provide professionals with a thorough understanding of the administrative review hearing process and best practices for preparing for and conducting an administrative review hearing. Participants will learn the regulatory framework that guides the administrative review hearing process and the tools and techniques to present a and assess an appeal.

This training will take a deep dive into the CACFP monitoring requirement and will provide an overview of monitoring in the CACFP and how to conduct monitoring effectively.

This training will provide State agency staff with skills necessary to conduct a CACFP monitoring review, questions to ask to determine compliance; and a sample monitoring tool that can be used in conducting monitoring.  The training will be interactive and State agency staff will have an opportunity to conduct a mock monitoring review.
