Monica H. Miles, CPA, MBA, CFE
Ms. Miles, President of MH Miles Company, CPA, PC (MHMC), has more than twenty years of experience in the fields of auditing, consulting, and contract/grant compliance. Ms. Miles is the Principal in charge of Audit Services contracts with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT). Additionally, she is the Principal in charge of Administrative Reviews of USDA funded programs managed by the Delaware Board of Education. Ms. Miles’ Transportation-related expertise includes accounting system reviews, CPA workpaper reviews related to cognizant audits, and FAR 31 overhead audits. Ms. Miles specializes in assisting State DOT’s with internal audit engagements, policy and procedure development and implementation related to compliance with Davis-Bacon and Related Acts, FAR 31 cost principles, AASHTO Audit Guide requirements and compliance with 49 CFR 26 and 23 DBE certification standards.
Ms. Miles is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs, the Greater Washington Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
Cherese Myree, CFE
Ms. Myree is a Principal at MH Miles Company, CPA PC (“MHMC”) where she heads up MHMC’s Compliance Division. She has more than 13 years of experience in the fields of auditing, accounting, and consulting and has specialized experience in governmental contract auditing, contract compliance, and fraud investigations. Ms. Myree co-manages MHMC’s DBE Supportive Services Consulting engagements with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT). Ms. Myree is experienced in 49 CFR Parts 23 and 26; FAR 31; Davis Bacon and Related Acts; and other regulations governing sub-recipients of federal and state grant funding. She has managed hundreds of governmental compliance monitoring engagements and provides litigation support and expert witness testimony for the State of Georgia in Administrative Hearings. Ms. Myree earned a B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Clark Atlanta University and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
